Clinical Efficacy of Micronomicin in Children with Infectious Diseases




Abstract
Clinicial efficacy of intravenous drip infusion of micronomicin (Sagacin ¢ç) was studied in 15 pediatric patients with various infectious diseases. In addition to micronomicin, amo ¢¥cillin or cefazolin was given to 11 and 2 patients respectively as clinically indicated.
The results were as follows
1. The efficacy, of micronomicin was excellent in 11 patients (pneumonia 6, UTI 2, to sillitis 1, gastroenteritis 1, gastroenteritis+pneumonia 1), good in 3 patients (pneumonia 1, bro chitis 1, tonsillitis 1), and poor in 1 patients( pneumonia 1). The average efficacy was 93%.
2. Organisms were isolated in 8 out of 15 patients, and the efficacy of micronomicin with respect to the isolated organisms were Staphylococcus aureus 100%(2/2), E.coli 75¢¥,(3/ 4), and Klebsiella 100%(2/2).
3. No side effect including nephrotoxicity was detected in all patients.
